Our Canada Water Dance Project S.E.N.D. classes empower every child to dance and create in a supportive, inclusive environment. Designed specifically for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, our small-group sessions focus on creative ballet and contemporary movement.

Class Size: Limited to 6 children per class to ensure personalised attention and a comfortable setting.
Parent/Carer Participation: Encouraged to join in and support their dancer.

Ballet & Rambert Contemporary Dance (Minimum Age: 10)

Time: Saturday, 3:00 PM – 3:30 PM

Designed for older participants to deepen technical skill, physical expression, and collaborative choreography.

Ballet & Rambert Contemporary Dance (Minimum Age: 7)

Time: Saturday, 3:45 PM – 4:15 PM

Blends foundational ballet technique with dynamic contemporary dance to build confidence, coordination, and creative flow.

Ballet & Creative Movement (Minimum Age: 4)

Time: Saturday, 4:30 PM – 5:00 PM

A gentle, playful introduction to dance focusing on self-expression, rhythm, and foundational movement.

FLARE: Ballet & Rambert Contemporary Dance (Ages 10+) | Saturday, 3:00 PM – 3:30 PM

Rooted in the renowned Rambert Creative Movers framework, this session gives older dancers a safe, expressive platform to explore technical skill, and personal choreography. Through guided improvisation and structured dynamic movement, participants build physical confidence, refine body awareness, and collaborate with peers at a level tailored to their unique strengths. Parent or carer support may be requested.

SPARK: Ballet & Rambert Contemporary Dance (Ages 7+) | Saturday, 3:45 PM – 4:15 PM

Drawing directly from Rambert’s play-based contemporary principles, this class fuses foundational ballet technique with vibrant, creative movement. Dancers develop coordination, spatial awareness, and musicality while experimenting with new ways to move, encouraging both independence and shared artistic expression in an encouraging small-group setup. Parent or carer support required.

GLOW: Ballet & Creative Movement (Ages 4+) | Saturday, 4:30 PM – 5:00 PM

Inspired by the core concepts of Rambert Creative Movers, our introductory class uses imaginative storytelling, sensory props, and expressive ballet play to engage young minds and bodies. It offers our youngest dancers a joyful, gentle entry point into dance, helping them develop motor skills, balance, and self-expression alongside parent or carer support.

S.E.N.D. Ballet and Contemporary Dance FAQs

Do we need to buy a specific uniform for the class? + -

No official uniform is required, comfort is always the main priority! Dancers are welcome to wear any flexible clothing they can move freely in. However, if your child would like to wear official gear, we offer optional T-shirts and dancewear featuring our bright, beautiful Canada Water Dance Project logo, which many dancers love wearing to feel part of the team.

How do I know which group (Glow, Spark, or Flare) is right for my child? + -

While each group has a minimum starting age (with no maximum age!), placement is based primarily on dance experience, physical skills, and individual needs. Before attending, we ask each parent to complete a brief online form so Miss Ashleigh and Miss Angelina can review your child’s background and help guide you to the group where they will feel most comfortable and supported.

How does parent or carer participation work in class? + -

Parents and carers are warmly encouraged to join in! You are welcome to actively participate alongside your dancer or remain nearby as a comforting, reassuring presence. With class sizes strictly capped at 6 children per session, this ensures a gentle, highly attentive, and relaxed environment for everyone.
